Houston Methodist Willowbrook recently partnered with the Center for Nursing Research, Education, and Practice to create stroke education by utilizing multimodal education. The course included high-fidelity simulation, educational games, and an escape room. High-fidelity simulation can incorporate theoretical knowledge, communication, and critical thinking skills into real-life scenarios in a safe environment. Neuro Jeopardy was utilized as an educational game that also fostered teamwork. Additionally, an escape room was created that integrated knowledge and skills. This program used several engaging and informative methods of education that can help ensure the retention of information and build critical thinking. Here at Houston Methodist, we are transforming education by using technology to improve nursing skills.
