Nursing certification reflects a commitment to clinical excellence and professional practice. In support of certification readiness, Houston Methodist offers a range of certification review courses. Current offerings include Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN), Cardiovascular Board Certified, Stroke Certified Registered Nurse (SCRN), Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN), Medical Surgical, and Nurse Executive Board Certified (NE-BC). Please be aware that the below information is subject to change.
Certified Emergency Nurse Review Course
Audience: Emergency Department RNs
Delivery Format: Virtual class via Microsoft Teams
Cost and Fees: Free for Houston Methodist employees

Critical Care Registered Nurse Review Course
A comprehensive CCRN review course is in active development, structured according to AACN guidelines and CCRN examination requirements. Once complete, course details will be provided in future flyers.

Cardiovascular Board-Certified Review Course
Audience: Any RN with an active license working in applicable areas (e.g., cardiac areas, cath lab, procedural areas), with two years of full‑time nursing experience, 2,000 clinical hours in a cardiovascular service line, and 30 CV‑related CE hours within three years
Delivery Format: Houston Methodist is working on making this an enduring class from a pre‑recorded virtual session

Cost and Fees: $100 for Houston Methodist employees and $150 for non-Houston Methodist attendees
